Introduction
Submitting a paper to a journal can be a daunting task, especially for those who are new to the field or publishing process. In this article, we will share our experience of submitting a manuscript to the Chinese Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences (CJPS) - the English edition of the Chinese Pharmaceutical Journal, which is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal.
Target Journal Selection
The first step in publishing a paper is selecting the target journal. In our case, we decided to submit our research to the CJPS for its reputation and scope. Before submitting, we made sure to carefully read and understand the journal's instructions for authors, including manuscript formatting, plagiarism and ethical issues.
Manuscript Preparation
We prepared our manuscript according to the journal's guidelines, which included an abstract, keywords, introduction, materials and methods, results, discussion, conclusion, acknowledgments, and references. We also made sure that our manuscript was free of grammatical and spelling errors and had clear and concise language. Additionally, we included relevant figures and tables.
Submitting the Manuscript
We submitted our manuscript via the journal's electronic submission system. The system required us to fill out a series of forms, including details about the manuscript and corresponding author. We also had to upload the manuscript files, including any accompanying figures and tables, and a cover letter explaining the significance and novelty of our research.
Peer Review Process
After submission, the manuscript underwent a peer review process, which lasted for about two months in our case. The reviewers provided constructive feedback on our research, and we used their suggestions to revise our paper. It is important to note that the peer review process helps to improve the quality of the manuscript and ensures the validity of the research.
Acceptance and Publication
After making the necessary revisions, we resubmitted our revised manuscript, and it was eventually accepted for publication. The journal's editorial team provided us with the proofs of our manuscript, which required our final approval before publication.
Conclusion
Submitting a manuscript to a journal such as the Chinese Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences requires careful attention to the journal's guidelines and instructions, as well as patience throughout the peer review process. However, the end result of having your research published in a reputable journal makes it all worth it.
